How to fix a broken window handle? The answer
We supply hundreds of distinct types of window operators such as: casement, awning, jalousie, louver and sill mechanisms for local pickup or shipping to your place of business or residence. We also cover handles and covers in a wide range of colors send in a picture sample of the color you require for a fast, free quote. When sending in pictures of your mechanism make sure to take a photo of both the front of the operator as well as the arms. For arms you will have to open your window and take photos of the operating mechanism.
Window Operator Kits
If you need a window operator kit we can supply the handle, cover and operator unit. If your operators have broken and the gear has come out (once the gear strips out and comes apart from the operator) you will require a new mechanism.
Remove / Install Info:
To replace your single arm casement operator: Remove the screen if it is in front of the window and open your window all the way. Unscrew the operator arm (Your mechanism may have four spots for screws and you might have to remove eight two and a half inch screws to pull your mechanism out of the current position.) and move the arm out of your way; next take out the visible operator screws and arrange the arms to an area where your mechanism can be moved to the interior and be careful to not cause damage.
Insert your new operating mechanism and secure the item with your new screws and be careful not to over extend the screws. Install your cover by pushing the item over the top of your operator (faceplate) and press down to secure into place.
